I've
been wanting to make one of these bad boys for a few years now.
This was a REALLY fun project to do. If you're interested in
doing this yourself, GO FOR IT!! Just don't worry about the
workmanship - The worse it looks, the better. The lid goes up
and down with a 4rpm gear motor about 6-8 inches. It has a
creaking sound effect to go with it. I had to use a gas-lift
piston from the local automotive store to help the motor lift the
heavy lid. The finished product is very heavy. 2 adults
(or 1 adult and 3-4 children) can move it. |
