Meet our latest pneumatic prop for 2003.  In 2002 we worked with pneumatics (compressed air driven) props for the first time, and were really excited with the speed and power available with compressed air. For 2003, we decided to add a new popup prop and have several other air effects as well.  This prop uses a single home built air-ram that is roughly 40" long that raises the prop to nearly 7 feet tall when energized.  Bungee cords pull his arms up as the body rises.  Ingredients:  PVC, chicken wire, landscape material, steel base, aluminum arms.
UPDATE!!
Poppa Ghoulie received a total makeover in 2006.  He's more or less the same, but now he uses a true commercial Bimba air ram instead of our home-made one, and stands about a foot taller than our last one.

<--- A new popup ghoul for 2003.  Andrew's standing behind modeling a potential mask for the prop.  This is just a temporary face until we find something permanent.

Getting near completion.  Still no hands, and only partially dressed, but this is his actual face.

It's a family affair.  He're Michelle sewing some clothes for our pop-up guy.

We made his hands by making a form of wire, covering it with cotton, and then coating it with liquid latex.

The liquid latex goes on white, but then dries a beige color.

Here's one of his hands after we apply a quick coat of stain.

<--- When energized.  Arms up, body at full stance.  (Still no hands in this shot)
